Engineering Digital Education Ecosystems: Harnessing AI, XR, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies for the Future of Education

The IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON) is one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Education Society. EDUCON 2027 is the 18th in a series of conferences that rotate among central locations in the IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

IEEE EDUCON 2027 invites organisers to submit proposals (1–2 pages) for Special Sessions via the online submission system. Proposals should clearly explain why the proposed session warrants a distinct focus separate from the regular program and must address cutting-edge, contemporary, or emerging areas relevant to the engineering education community. Submissions that are too brief may be automatically rejected.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES (MAXIMUM 1–2 PAGES)

Each proposal will be required to submit two files:

The Proposal PDF should summarize the scope of the session in no more than 1-2 pages that includes:

Requirements: Provide Page Limit and any other relevant requirements for submissions to your session.

Topics of Interest: The session should highlight recent developments, facilitate the exchange of ideas, and promote discussion on open research questions and future directions. Original contributions involving novel applications, case studies, and practical experiences are encouraged. Example topics may include, but are not limited to:

» Topic 2
» …

Session Chairs: Include names, affiliations, and email addresses of proposed chairs.
