The IEEE Education Society invites proposals to host future editions of the IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON)—the Society’s flagship annual conference in IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East & Africa). EDUCON convenes a global community of educators, researchers, and practitioners to advance innovation in engineering and technology education.

Hosting Overview
IEEE EDUCON is organized under the auspices of the IEEE Education Society and the IEEE EDUCON Steering Committee.
The local host institution works in partnership with the official professional conference organizer (Conference Catalysts LLC) and the Steering Committee to plan and deliver the event.
Typical conference scope includes:
- Three to four conference days plus an optional workshop day (March – April timeframe)
- Plenary and parallel sessions, workshops, panels, posters, and exhibits
- Cultural or networking events that reflect the character of the host city
- Strong proposals demonstrate capable local leadership, suitable facilities (plenary, 8–12 parallel rooms, exhibit/poster area), reliable AV and networking infrastructure, good regional accessibility, and accommodation options at multiple price points, including student-friendly rates.

2027 Hosting Proposals: Due Friday, November 7, 2025 (urgent call)
2028–2031 Hosting Proposals: Due Friday, December 12, 2025
How to Apply
Interested institutions are encouraged to review the official Call for Proposals to Host Bid Form for details on proposal structure, hosting responsibilities, and financial considerations.
To submit:
- Complete the Bid Proposal Form (available below).
- Include any supporting materials such as venue details, letters of support, or presentations.
- Email the completed proposal to all recipients below:

Evaluation
The Steering Committee evaluates all proposals based on:
- Strength, experience, and diversity of the proposed local organizing team
- Quality and suitability of the venue and city
- Accessibility and affordability for attendees
- Alignment with IEEE EDUCON’s mission and long-term goals
Final selections will be made by the IEEE EDUCON Steering Committee following review meetings after each deadline.
